HiCar (Histon Car Club)
HiCar was lauched in March 2010 as a volunteer-run car club set up to offer Histon and Impington residents and businesses pay-as-you-go access to cars parked conveniently in the village. Structured as a community cooperative, run entirely by volunteers, the group will purchase second-user cars to keep costs down. Initial charges are hoped to start from £2 per hour. HiCar believe that anyone with a 5-6 year old car who doesn't use it every day and who drives less than 6,000 miles a year could save money by using the scheme.
